Back in June, the Birdsville Race Club officially presented its long-standing charity partner, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, with $41,4872 raised during the iconic Birdsville Races.
This hefty donation was raised by one of Australia’s most remote
communities during the Birdsville Cup weekend last September across the two days of racing.
Nino Di Marco of the Queensland Royal Flying Doctor Service was on hand in Birdsville to accept the cheque from Birdsville Race Club President Mr David Brook (OAM).
Nino was in Birdsville as part of the RFDS clinic visits that are critical to the health and welfare of residents of regional Australia.
Birdsville Race Club’s Gary Brook announced, “We’re very proud to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service as it’s vital to the wellbeing of people who live in remote communities like ours.”
“The money raised in 2014 far exceeded the target that we set and this year we hope to increase that even further..”
The 2015 Birdsville Races will be held on Friday September 4 and Saturday September 5. Get involved!www.birdsvilleraces.com
